Dear JCI Nigeria Collegiate Members,
Happy New Year, I am humbled to welcome you to 2012 National (collegiate) Organization year.
Ella Fitzgerald, jazz singer said;” It’s not where you are coming from that counts, it’s where you are going to”. In the light of this, I urge us all to put 2011 behind (truly it’s already behind) and look into 2012- what it holds for you; determine to put in your best so as to achieve the best also. “If you want the best out of something, you must look for the best that is in it”- Bernard Haldane.
So therefore, I welcome you all dear friends and fellow Young Active Citizens to the year where we will be “REVIVING OUR CULTURE AND SECURING OUR FUTURE THROUGH POSTIVE IMPACT”. Let me first sincerely appreciate my Immediate Past Collegiate Chairman (Barrister Olawale Bakare) for the much he did last year in bring our future to lime light.
As 2012 Collegiate Chairman, I assure you that I will serve you diligently and see to the development of individual members and the structure at large. The National President, National Executive and the National Board of Directors are passionate about the success of the collegiate structure. The Collegiate Vice Chairperson and Chairmen are ready to put their best to make Positive Impact Everywhere and the Immediate Past Collegiate Chairman has promised is total support. As I congratulate all appointed National Collegiate Council members, Collegiate Chapter Presidents and everyone that will pilot affairs one way or the other this year in the Collegiate Structure, please let’s gear up to leave the structure better than we met it.
Within the next few week, we will inmate you how we will pilot the activities of the year, we are determined to continue setting the Collegiate Structure on the pathway of success and progress.
The Collegiate Conference this year comes in Owerri, Imo State to be hosted by Federal University of Technology, Owerri in May, there will be Area Training Retreats, we promise well package events and make them all the best ever, just has we also plan to attend Area Conferences and National Convention. I really urge us all to sign up for the National Collegiate Insurance Scheme (we do not pray for any bad occurrences but only secure the future).
Lastly, I urge us all to be the best we can be, live our vision by passionately seeing to the growth of our individual chapters and JCI Nigeria as a whole; live our mission by helping ourselves and others be better and providing development opportunities in our community through people centered programs and projects and also live every line of our creed. We are a federation of Young Active Citizens, I urge us to be truly one always, mutual respect is not negotiable and let’s addresses every situation with utmost maturity.
I am opened to suggestions and advice always; IT’S TIME FOR ‘PIE’, let’s make POSITIVE IMPACT EVERYWHERE (PIE) always.
